Bags, seats and extras

Buying extras, choosing seats, and what happens to them when a flight changes or is cancelled.

Each button shows the requirement in the Lean model behind an answer. Blue means every criterion is proven; amber means at least one is still open. Every amount on these pages comes from facts.json, which lake exe airline-facts computes from the fares in Airline/Fares.lean.

Extras belong to a flight

A bag, a seat or a meal is tied to one traveler on one flight. When that flight changes, we know which extras go with it.

Buying extras

You can add a bag or a seat only for a flight you hold, or one you are booking in the same step. Adding extras leaves the rest of your booking as it was.

How extra bags are priced

Extra bags are priced the same way every time: the price per bag times the number of bags, for each traveler and flight you choose. Each traveler and flight gets its own line in your booking.

Choosing seats

You can choose any seat the seat map shows as free. If a seat you picked is not free, we turn down the request and you can pick again. Each seat you choose is added to your booking at its price.

If you cancel a flight

When you cancel a flight, everything in that part of your booking is cancelled with it. Extras on your other flights stay as they were. If your terms do not allow an item to be cancelled, we turn down the request.

If your flight changes

If your flight is replaced, we tell you what happens to each extra booked on it. An extra that moves with its flight goes to the new flight, for the same traveler.

Still being decided

Two travelers given the same seat

We check each seat against the seat map. We have not yet decided how we stop two travelers in one booking from choosing the same seat. If your boarding passes show the same seat for two people, contact us before you fly and we will fix it.
